Born in the Panama Canal Zone, award-winning writer Doris E. Wright has lived and traveled throughout the the United Kingdom, France, and Ireland, as well as various locales in the United States.
After careers as a teacher and a journalist, and raising three children, she turned to writing. Her story, “A Mother and Son Have a Friendly Chat,” took first place in Sea Island Spirit Writers Short Story Contest in 2023.
Always curious about what might happen, Doris delights in the odd and unusual, often posing such questions as, “What if a cabbage could talk?” and “What if a young academic got stranded in Africa?” which is the topic of her current work in progress, BROKEN DOWN.

Their conversations help Bradley discover his long-suppressed self.
